RheaSunshine born in Detroit, MI and raised in Huntsville, AL began singing in the church choir at an early age. Music was always a big part of her family. At an early age, RheaSunshine started writing poetry and crossed over from vocalizing through music to the spokenword. As time progressed, she found a way to fuse her love for both the word and music. As a spokenword artist, she has travelled all over the country, performing at universities, colleges, open mics, churches, and poetry festivals. Ranked in the top 20 southern slam poets, she stopped competing as a poet and settled into performance poetry. Although, RheaSunshine has been singing for about 5 years, Aftah Party is the first time that RheaSunshine has truly had the opportunity to sing the type of music that she loves on a continuous basis. She hopes that her raspy contralto voice will touch people all over the county and the world.
